What is Family Services?

Homeward Alliance provides housing-focused support to help families escape homelessness and once housed, prevent homelessness.  Family Services is divided into two main program areas:

  • Family Resources (Family Food and Child/Teen Clothing Closet and Quarterly Family Resource Fairs)

Family Food and Child/Teen Clothing Closet

Our closet, located at our Family Resource Connection (family-only site), provides 24/7 access to our non-profit and agency partners-- allowing case workers, teachers, counselors, and others to meet immediate needs for food, hygiene, diapers, clothing, and warm winter gear.

If you are a family in need of clothing, please reach out to a service provider you are connected with to request clothing (ex: PSD McKinney Liaison). If you are not connected to a service provider, please email familyservices@homewardalliance.org(English) or serviciosfamiliares@homewardalliance.org (Spanish) or call (970) 829-0503.

If you work work for a non-profit or other organization and would like information on how to access the closet, please contact us (information above).

Family Resource Fairs

Family Resource Fairs provide children and families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness with a) supplies they need to survive, endure the elements and meet basic physical, emotional, and educational needs and b) the opportunity to connect with community resources that provide a framework for each family’s unique journey to economic stability. Families (households with at least one child 18 years old or younger) who are experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity are eligible to attend.  Items distributed include child/teen clothing, diapers, and hygiene items, and informational resources.
