David Rout, Executive Director (seven years length of service)
David joined Homeward Alliance in 2012 and became the Executive Director in 2014. He holds a Master’s in Social Work (MSW) from Colorado State University. He represents Homeward Alliance on multiple task forces, serves on Colorado State University’s School of Social Work Advisory Board and sits on the Board of Directors for Outreach Fort Collins and Homeward 2020.
Linda Nuss, Operations Director (five years length of service)
Linda joined Homeward Alliance in 2014 as the Hand Up Program Manager. She is an entrepreneur, former small business owner and certified life coach.
Pam Brewer, Development Director (two years length of service)
Pam Brewer joined Homeward Alliance as the Volunteer and Events Coordinator in 2017 and transitioned into the role of Development Director in 2018, She has over a decade of experience working with disadvantaged children in the local school district and served previously at a domestic violence shelter.
Rachel Kirkland, Employment Services Director (three years length of service)
Rachel Kirkland joined Homeward Alliance as a Murphy Center Intake Specialist in 2016. She became the Hand Up Program Manager in 2017 and assumed the role of Employment Services Director in 2018. In addition to the Hand Up program, Rachel oversees the Re-Entry program, which is funded by the State of Colorado’s Work and Gain Employment and Education Skills (WAGEES) program.
Marla Cleary, Housing First Initiative Director (two years length of service)
Marla holds a Master’s degree in Women and Gender Studies from the University of North Carolina. Before becoming the Housing First Initiative Director in 2017, she served as a Housing Counselor and Property Manager for a local nonprofit focused on sustainable housing and homelessness prevention.
Jackie Marks, Murphy Center Director (two years length of service)
Jackie joined Homeward Alliance’s staff in 2017. She holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington. Prior to Homeward Alliance, Jackie served as a Case Manager at Catholic Charities for six years.
Tom Austin, Director of Special Initiatives
Before joining the Murphy Center as an Intake Specialist, Tom worked for 16 years in Washington, D.C., on the communications team for NeighborWorks America. He also volunteered on the Street Outreach team with Homeless Gear, where he interacted with people on the streets of Fort Collins.
